Celtic Solstice Top Complete!

This year Bonnie Hunter's mystery quilt Celtic Solstice was quite a challenge.

Mine has many unmatched seams, pleats and puckers.

But at a distance, it reminds me of a beautiful stained glass piece.

I am linking up with other mystery quilters at the Celtic Solstice Finale here.
Can't wait to see how everyone's different colors and border configurations turned out!

  1. It looks great! I laughed when I read your description. I have never made a quilt that ended up with as many cut-off points and mis-matched intersections as this one. So far (and I'm in the quilting process) I've managed to avoid puckers and pleats, though....but I have a lot left to do. Yours looks wonderful and this quilt has so much to look at that people will probably not even notice our errors. :)

    1. Thank you! I'm sure this has more errors than any quilt I've ever made as well. That's the great thing about the mysteries- most of them look so difficult I would never attempt them if I new how they turned out!

  2. So scrappy and wonderful! Mismatched seams, puckers? Who'd even notice, it's a show stopper!

  3. Wonderful. Still working on mine hope it comes out half as good as everyone else's. Will put up with a few puckers and pleats if they happen, just cause I made it all myself will quilt it myself too! First king size quilt for me.

  4. It looks good from here, and when it's quilted it'll be all crinkly anyway.and the puckers won't show.

  5. A great looking quilt! You can see mine in link-up #10, and in that picture you can actually see one block 3" turned 90 degrees from where it was supposed to be. Luckily I discovered the mistake before it was sent to the quilter. Yes, and I also have some mismatched seams and points.

  6. I had a block turned the wrong way too! Discovered it before the borders went on and at least it was on the edge.

  7. Yes, I was sewing away and had totally switched up all the squares in one block -- so fun!

  8. I think it looks beautiful! And no-one will notice irregularities if you don't point them out.

  9. I think it is beautiful! And no-one will notice irregularities if you don't point them out. They get lost in the overall beauty of it.

  13. It is beautiful. I too had a few spots on the border that just didn't want to fit quite right!
