Hexies

This is a quilt top from the Nebraska State Historical Site that I am trying to reproduce. I started in October 2010. I use a 1.5" Creative Memories hexagon punch and empty cereal boxes- Cheerio's boxes are the best! They're not too stiff as to make it hard to punch, that can really make your hand hurt, and not too flimsy so they don't bend and make your hexies lop-sided.  Plus they're heart healthy :) Fiskar's makes several hex punches in different sizes now so my next project might have larger hexies and go faster. This will be queen-sized if I ever finish. There is a big quilt show here in town every September. I would like to enter it one day and hope to be recognized for effort or at least persistence.
